Housing Balance Transfer to Regular Term Bill

If you anticipate having unpaid fees on your student housing account in BruinBill through the OneBill Initiative implementation, please read on to learn how your balance will be transferred to Regular Term Bill.

Balance Transfer

The last day to make a payment on your Housing Bill account will be Thursday, November 3 at 11:59 p.m. (P.T.). If possible, we encourage you to settle the outstanding balance on your Housing Bill prior to this date to minimize confusion. 

If the balance has not been paid by this time:

  • The Student Accounts office will be providing billing support for your balance (instead of UCLA Housing) going forward.
  • Existing Academic Record Restrictions will be transferred and managed by Student Accounts.
  • Your balance will be transferred to a different account(s) on BruinBill, depending on when the original housing charge was due.

Unpaid fees due July 1, 2022 – November 4, 2022:

These fees will be transferred to the new Regular Term Bill account on BruinBill. It will display as Housing Balance Transfer under the Activity Details of Regular Term Bill for fall term.

BruinBill disbursements for academic year 22-23 that are posted after November 8, 2022, including winter term financial aid, will generally apply in the following order:

  1. Regular Term Bill tuition fees
  2. Regular Term Bill mandatory housing charges due in academic year 22-23 (fees due between July 2022 – June 2023)
  3. Regular Term Bill miscellaneous/other fees
  4. Additional funding, or funding that was ineligible to apply to these charges, will generate a BruinBill refund.  

Unpaid fees due prior to July 1, 2022:

These fees will be transferred to a separate Installment Account on BruinBill.

Terms of the Installment Account will not be set at time of your balance conversion but you will have an opportunity to work with Student Accounts on setting up a payment arrangement in alignment with the City of LA COVID-19 Renter protections.

BruinBill disbursements for academic year 22-23 that are posted after November 8, 2022, including winter term financial aid, will not automatically apply to COVID impacted housing debt due prior to July 1, 2022.
